UPCOMING IN 2022

Lance Corey has been an abstract artist for over 40 years. He has a life-long love of history, and his politics, and willingness to speak truth to power compel his art.

He was born in Merrick, Long Island, NY, and his artistic training consisted of copying Rouault and Modigliani from photos of their art when he was age 11.

He's been influenced by the Post Impressionists, the Fauvists, the Expressionists and the Abstract Expressionists. They, as well as Matisse, Picasso, and Pollock, opened the door to his Neo-Primitivism.

He has earned degrees in Communication Arts from Notre Dame, Philosophy and Theology from Truman State, as well as History and International Relations from Long Island University.

Corey won Fulbright Scholarships to study in Egypt and China; and has taught World History and Geography in New York City for 22 years.

Corey has traveled overseas, and in fact, took three NYC students to live with the Maasai in Kenya for 2 weeks, then returned to Kenya to record their folk music and songs a month later. All of these experiences have informed his art.

Corey lives in Quoge, NY with his wife Laurie.
